Adler Mountain Lodge in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site

This stunning lodge opened its doors in July 2014 and is just about to enjoy its first winter season on the Alpe di Siusi, Europe’s biggest mountain plateau in the very heart of the UNESCO World Heritage ADLER Mountain Lodge is located in the middle of the pistes and guests can enjoy free guided activities including skiing. The Mountain Lodge also houses a spectacular wellness area, located on the top floor of the main lodge which will have a sauna, relaxation area and three treatment rooms, along with a wrap-around infinity pool, all with panoramic views of the Alpine landscape. Room rates start at €207 (approx £170) per person per night on a full-board basis, including soft drinks and a selection of Italian fine wines and liquors, as well as access to the spa and wellness facilities, and activities.

Steindl - new affordable boutique hotel

This beautiful, affordable boutique hotel opened in July and is located in Sterzing, approximately 15 km south of the Brenner Pass and very easy to reach from both Verona and Innsbruck airports. Great for snow lovers, Sterzing has direct access to the Rosskopf cable car from where you can ski and toboggan. The hotel provides discounted ski passes, and free sledding. Reinhold Messner to open final mountain museum in December 2014

Messner Mountain Museum Corones – the highest museum in South Tyrol, is set to open on December 2014. Designed by Zaha Hadid, Reinhold Messner's sixth and final museum will be opening right at the peak of Kronplatz ski mountain at 2,275 m.  The  MMM Corones  with its unique view of the Dolomites, between  Olang,  Bruneck  and the  Gadertal is dedicated to the theme of 'Rocks' and the lives of mountain climbers, represented by objects from his collections. Much of the museum is below ground, to blend in with the landscape as far as possible.

New cable cars and pistes

Two state of the art 8-seat cable car lines will now be linking the Helm and Rotwand ski areas from the new winter skiing season 14/15. Plus two new ski pistes have also been opened in the area which are perfects for all ski fans; the new Drei Zinnen (Three Peaks) descent and the new Stiergarten piste will be the ultimate highlight. From 2100 m on the Stiergarten, skiers can enjoy a totally new view of the Sexten Dolomites, with magnificent views of the Drei Zinnen, giving the region a network of 90 km of pistes in all.

New ski safari tour from Skido

Skido Dolomites has launched  brand new ski safari day tours which covers the ski areas of Kronplatz, Sexten Dolomites, Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Sella Ronda.  On the three guided tours, lasting from around 09.30 to 16.00 , up to 10 guests and an expert guide will explore the area and all the hidden spots only a local would know.. As well as skiing guests can also take culinary stops along one of the long Dolomite pistes, with drinks and coffee breaks any time you like.

Enhanced Solda ski area

As well as what is still the world's largest cable car line (four cars x 110 persons = 440 persons), the lift facilities in Solda/Sulden have also been extended with a state of the art 10-seat circulating car lift  "Rosim“ in the Kanzel area. This completes the long-awaited linkup between the existing ski areas in Sulden in both directions.  The challenging new panorama piste runs from the Rosim-Bahn's mountain station in the Kanzel ski area straight to the cable car line Valley Station.
