Velika planina

Velika planina lies above Kamnik in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, close to Ljubljana. A cable car takes guests from the valley up to the high plateau, where several lifts serve the slopes between the characteristic alpine huts. It is a very small area (3 km of slopes), and besides skiing there are cross-country trails, toboggan runs and hiking paths. The season usually runs from mid-December to late March, and an adult day pass in main season costs €29 (prices from skiresort.com as of 22 October 2026).
