St. Jakob im Defereggental

St. Jakob im Defereggental is the Brunnalm ski area in East Tyrol (Osttirol), far from mass tourism. Skiresort.com praises its snow reliability and powder until April; there are black runs on the Leppleskofelbahn, wide carving slopes on the Weißspitzbahn and valley runs, and beginners have slopes both near the valley and higher up. From the top station you can see 60 peaks above 3,000 m around the Großglockner. The planned 2026/2027 season runs from 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, and an adult day pass in main season costs €74 (prices from skiresort.com as of 22 October 2026).
