Bagnères De Bigorre - La Mongie - Grand Tourmalet

Grand Tourmalet connects La Mongie and Barèges in the French Pyrenees (Hautes-Pyrénées) and is one of the largest areas in those mountains (100 km of slopes). The entrance from Barèges is at Tournaboup, and the Col du Tourmalet, closed to traffic in winter, runs right through the middle. It suits beginners, families and advanced skiers, and from La Mongie a cable car climbs to the Pic du Midi observatory (2,877 m), where skiing is for freeriders only. The planned 2026/2027 season runs from 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, and an adult day pass in main season costs €53 (prices from skiresort.com as of 22 October 2026).
