La Plagne in the Tarentaise (Savoie) is one of the largest ski areas in the Alps (225 km of slopes), mostly above 2,000 m and partly on a glacier, so snow is very reliable. The Vanoise Express gondola links it with Les Arcs and Peisey Vallandry, and a joint pass covers over 400 km of slopes. Skiresort.com singles it out for beginners, experts, freeriders and park riders. The planned 2026/2027 season runs from 12 December 2026 to 25 April 2027, and an adult day pass in main season costs €70 (prices from skiresort.com as of 22 October 2026).
