Saint Pierre de Chartreuse

Saint Pierre de Chartreuse is the small Le Planolet ski area in the Chartreuse, on the western edge of the French Alps, about 45 minutes by car from Grenoble and Chambéry. It has 5 km of slopes and 5 lifts, and suits families, beginners and people getting back on skis. Le Planolet used to belong to a larger ski area, but the connecting lifts were dismantled in 2025. The season depends on snow and usually ends in early March, and an adult day pass in main season costs €15 (prices from skiresort.com as of 22 October 2026).
