Zermatt

Zermatt lies beneath the Matterhorn in Valais and, together with Italy’s Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche, forms the Matterhorn Ski Paradise (322 km of slopes), one of the largest ski areas in the world and the highest in the Alps – the lifts reach 3,899 m. The car-free village of Zermatt is the starting point on the Swiss side, with Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche on the Italian side. In summer you can ski on the Theodul Glacier.
